Privacy Policy

The short version: TutuMargin stores your recipes, sales, and receipts on your phone. We do not run a server, we do not have an account system, and we do not collect analytics. The only data that ever leaves your device is (a) the text of a receipt — if you choose to use AI parsing, which requires you to add your own DeepSeek API key — and (b) subscription status, handled by RevenueCat, which Apple requires for in-app subscriptions to work.

1. Who runs this app

TutuMargin is built and operated by an independent developer. Contact: hello@tutumargin.com.

2. What data we collect

From you, directly: nothing. There is no sign-up, no account, no email collection inside the app. The app starts working the moment you open it.

Stored on your device only (never transmitted by us):

Receipt photos you scan
Recipes and bills of materials you create
Sales records and locked-cost snapshots
Material alias mappings
Your app preferences and settings

These are written to a local SQLite database on your phone. They are not uploaded to any server we operate.

3. Third-party services we use

3.1 RevenueCat (subscription state)

If you subscribe to TutuMargin Pro, the Apple subscription receipt is sent to RevenueCat to verify entitlement. RevenueCat receives a randomly-generated app user ID and your subscription event timestamps. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, recipes, sales data, or device contacts. Their privacy policy applies to this processing.

3.2 DeepSeek (only if you enable AI receipt parsing)

TutuMargin uses Apple's on-device ML framework to read text off your receipts. By default, that text stays on your phone.

You may optionally enter a DeepSeek API key in Settings to enable smarter parsing of your receipt text into structured fields (item names, prices, tax). When you do this, the OCR'd receipt text — not the image — is sent directly from your device to DeepSeek's API using your key. We do not see, log, or store this traffic. DeepSeek's own privacy policy governs how they handle that data.

If you do not enter a DeepSeek key, no receipt data ever leaves your device.

3.3 Apple

If you purchase TutuMargin Pro, payment is processed by Apple under the App Store terms. We never see your payment method.

4. What we do NOT do

No analytics SDK (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no PostHog, no Amplitude)
No crash-reporting SDK (no Sentry, no Crashlytics)
No advertising (no IDFA, no ad networks, no tracking)
No social SDKs (no Facebook, no TikTok pixel)
No cloud sync, no remote backup, no telemetry of any kind
No selling, renting, or sharing of any data — there is nothing to sell

5. Children

TutuMargin is intended for adults running small product businesses. It is not directed to children under 13.

6. Your rights

Because all your data lives on your device, you control it completely. To delete everything: uninstall the app. To export your data: use the CSV export feature inside the app (Pro feature) or share the SQLite file via iOS Files.

7. Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy materially — for example, if we add a new third-party service — we will update the effective date at the top and post the change here. We will not begin collecting data we previously promised not to collect without your explicit consent.
